A visit was made to the Bristol Harbour Railway before the first passenger train ran. This was to capture the loco leaving shed and shunting before the start of the passenger service. On this visit the loco was Avonside 1764 of 1917, a loco which worked the docks system at Avonmoth. Unfortunately the loco was late off shed and had to shunt a Flatrol wagon off the pit road before stabling over the pit for attention. I was told there was a new driver on the loco who was taking things cautiously. So here are some clips of shunting taking place before the wagons for the passenger service are moved towards the M Shed. My thanks to the “extras” who played a part in the making of this video.
