Singapore generates close to 60,000 tonnes of e-waste every year, leading to the contribution of global warming and climate change. Hoping to change the consumerist buy-and-throw-away mindset in Singapore, Repair Kopitiam, a community driven initiative which wants to create a sustainable world, provides free fixes for anything from torn garments, rickety furniture to electrical items, brought in by anyone. They are encouraging Singaporeans to think about getting their items fixed instead of simply throwing them away.
