Misinforming enemies has been practiced since the time of the Roman Empire, but unwritten rules and respect for diplomatic procedures have always been observed. The first politician to openly and brazenly renounce all previous agreements was Hitler. It's therefore not surprising that his strategy in relations with the USSR on the eve of the war was a most sophisticated lie and outright deception under the guise of friendship.

How exactly did he attempt to mislead Stalin to conceal his true plans for invading the USSR? What large-scale operation did Goebbels's office—the Third Reich's chief propagandist—conduct to disinform our military? What rumors were spread among the Soviet population? How was this done? And why did Hitler deceive even his own compatriots, concealing the date of the attack on the Soviet Union?

I present to you the author's publication "They Created the Third Reich," based on recently declassified archival documents from the FSB, SVR, and RGVIA, which
allow us to put forward versions that significantly challenge previously held understandings of the events unfolding on the eve of the Great Patriotic War and the consequences that influenced the outcome of the bloodiest war in human history.
