Fix Subnautica 2 Unable to Connect Online
Unable to connect online in Subnautica 2? Follow these steps to fix it.
Step 1: Change IPv4 DNS Settings
Press Start, type "View network connections" and press Enter. Right-click your active Ethernet adapter (or Wi-Fi adapter) and select "Properties." Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click "Properties." Choose "Use the following DNS server addresses" and try:
Option 1 - Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
Option 2 - Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
Click OK.
Step 2: Disable IPv6
Still in the properties window, uncheck the box next to "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" to disable it. Click OK and Close.
Step 3: Add Exclusion in Virus and Threat Protection
Press Start, type "Virus and threat protection" and press Enter. Click "Manage settings." Scroll to Exclusions and click "Add or remove exclusions." Click "Add an exclusion" - "File" - browse to the Subnautica 2 executable file and add it.
Step 4: Verify Integrity of Game Files
Open Steam, right-click Subnautica 2 in your library. Select Properties, then Installed Files, then click "Verify integrity of game files." Wait for the scan to complete.
Step 5: Run Executable as Administrator
Navigate to your Subnautica 2 game directory. Right-click the game's executable file and select Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab. Check "Run this program as an administrator." Click Apply and OK.
Step 6: Restart Your PC
Restart your computer to ensure all changes take effect. Launch Subnautica 2. The "Unable to Connect Online" error should now be resolved.
