Call To Action: If you are an American who believes that constitutional rights are fundamental to life in the United States and the free world, then you should be profoundly disturbed by what has happened to Richard Allen.
The treatment of Richard Allen represents a grave injustice and a systemic failure of law enforcement, prosecution, and the judiciary. His constitutional rights were stripped away at every stage—by local police, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, the Indiana State Police, the prosecution, and ultimately the court. What unfolded was not justice, but a textbook example of prosecutorial and judicial misconduct resulting in the railroading of a man who was, by all available evidence, innocent.
Richard Allen had no criminal record. He was employed at the local CVS in Delphi. There was no DNA, no fingerprints, and no forensic evidence linking him to the crime scene. He had no known connection to Abby Williams or Libby German. He was not involved in Asatru or Odinism. A search of his home and electronic devices revealed nothing related to children, CSAM, or violent behavior. He was a married, hardworking, tax-paying family man—indistinguishable from countless ordinary Americans.
Yet for one reason alone—voluntarily informing police that he had been on the trails on February 13, 2017—Richard Allen now sits in a maximum-security prison serving a 130-year sentence.
The Indiana Supreme Court must also be held accountable. Despite clear and ongoing violations of Richard Allen’s civil rights, they allowed Judge Frances Gull to remain on the case. They had both the authority and the responsibility to intervene, and they chose not to.
It is critical to remember this fact: for more than five years, approximately 25 of the best state and federal law-enforcement agencies in the country were unable to solve this case. We are now expected to believe that a 75-year-old volunteer uncovered the decisive tip—found sitting in a desk drawer—that suddenly resolved the investigation. That rediscovered tip is the very foundation upon which Richard Allen’s arrest and conviction rest.
The community demanded closure. The system needed an answer. And Richard Allen became the patsy.
Even during his interrogation with Indiana State Police investigator Holeman, Richard Allen expressed fear that he was being positioned as the fall guy. Tragically, that fear proved justified.
No injustice in our lifetime rivals what has been done to this man. The jury that convicted him was not impartial; they were hand-picked, groomed, pampered, and subtly steered throughout the process. They were never meant to challenge the narrative placed before them.
Most alarming of all, Judge Gull and individuals associated with The Murder Sheet podcast stayed at the same motel as the jurors—an appearance of impropriety that should deeply trouble anyone who values judicial integrity and the right to a fair trial.
This case is not only about Richard Allen. It is about the erosion of rights that Americans assume are guaranteed. If a man can be imprisoned for life without physical evidence, without a prior record, and without a fair and impartial process, then none of us are safe from the same fate.
Justice is not measured by convictions—it is measured by truth, fairness, and the protection of constitutional rights. Richard Allen was denied all three.
If we fail to act now, we send a message that due process is optional, that innocence is irrelevant, and that any one of us can be next.
