Darwinopterus is a pterosaur from china that lived during the middle Jurassic period which dates back to around 160 million years ago. Along with its head crest Darwinopterus is well known in the scientific community for possibly being a transitional species between the two major groups of pterosaurs, the small rhamphorhynchoids and the large pterodactyloid.

This sculpture is a unique design based on paleontological diagrams of actual fossils and was hand made through plasma cutting, metal shaping, welding and polishing. Perched on a custom wall mounted branch, this piece makes for an excellent wall ordainment for any paleontology enthusiasts
