The 13 original primes were created by Primus, the Cybertronian God of life and the creator of all transformers. These 13 Primes were created by Primus during the Great Cataclysm of Cybertron when Primus and Unicron The Chaos Bringer were in war against each other.
They were legendary warriors, each with a powerful weapon or artifact of their own, given to them by Primus himself. They fought Unicron and defeated him, banishing the Chaos Bringer to Earth.
