During last week's opening swell at Teahupoo, there was one glaring absence: Matahi Drollet, who's snagged more epic waves out there over the past few years than just about anyone. Turns out, the Tahitian was injured, but made his way back yesterday in glorious fashion with this expertly ridden tube.As for the day? Local charger Manea Fabisch shot video for a while -- including the above clip -- before heading out and getting some barrels himself. “From what I saw and felt the swell was peaking this morning," Fabisch said Friday evening. "Much more energy and the biggest waves of the day came through in between 7am and 10am, with the biggest ones reaching 12 feet. Hopefully the charts are right and tomorrow is slightly bigger. This evening cleaned up nicely and there was some sets in the eight to 10 foot range, looking promising for tomorrow!”
