Simple Harmony tutorial #12: final steps - box bottom, trim, hardware and feet
In this episode we will put the finishing touches on the Simple Harmony box: finishing the bottom with decorative paper, applying trim to cover the cut edges, installing exterior mount hinges, and fitting and gluing in feet for the box. I will show you how to plan your hardware placement and trim application to achieve a completely seamless look and a high quality finish. This is the last tutorial for Simple Harmony and marks the completion of the box.

Yes paste

2 meters gilt woven tape from Thistle Threads, or substitute trim of your choice: please note, you must have 2 meters, as 2 yards will leave you short. 2 1/2 yards should be sufficient if your trim is cut in yardage.

Exterior mount hinges (see episode 6 description and master materials list for suggestions)
Screws to fit the box - no longer than 3/8"
Feet, painted or gilded (optional)
Hand drill and flathead or Philips screwdriver of the correct size for your screws to install hinges
Toothpicks for applying Jade 403 PVA, craft spatulas for the Yes paste
Fabric scissors
Inexpensive scissors to cut the gilt tape
Ruler
Ceramic pencil/micron pen etc to mark hinge placement
Flour sack towel and books for weighting and drying
