In this video, I take my boat out for a short fishing and navigation trip in Tampa Bay, Florida, specifically around the Anclote Key area. I’m running a 2019 Yamaha 150HP, which I recently installed to replace my old 2006 Yamaha 115HP, and the difference is huge. This motor is a much better match for my 2008 Triumph 195CC, offering more power, better control, and overall reliability for the type of waters I want to explore moving forward.
The trip was short and I wasn’t fully prepared, but I still managed to catch a couple of small fish, nothing major this time, but fishing is fishing, and there’s plenty more to come. The main goal was to get familiar with the new motor, do some navigating, and start dialing things in.
I also talk a bit about my Garmin 94SV and mention plans to install a SteadyCast antenna. This setup should help me confidently run waters I haven’t been able to explore before.
You’ll also see solo docking, launching, and trailering. I share some small but important information that make docking by yourself much easier, especially on a very tight and challenging ramp like this one. Small movements and control are key when you’re alone, and I try to show that in real conditions.
This channel is about getting out on the water more, fishing more often, improving the setup, and eventually chasing bigger fish in new areas now that I have a motor I can truly rely on.
Thanks for watching, and more trips are coming soon.
