Biscuit Basin explosion - before and after
On July 23, 2024, around 10:00 AM, a small hydrothermal explosion occurred in #Yellowstone National Park, in the #BiscuitBasin thermal area, near #BlackDiamond Pool, while hundreds of visitors were present. The boardwalk around the pool was damaged, but fortunately, there were no injuries. However, the event could have easily turned into a tragedy.
The unpredictability of volcanoes raises a pressing dilemma: "risk or resource?" This question does not have a simple answer and depends entirely on how communities and authorities manage and balance these two contrasting aspects.

Il 23 luglio 2024, intorno alle 10 del martino si è verificata una piccola esplosione idrotermale nel Parco Nazionale di #Yellowstone, nella zona termale di #BiscuitBasin, presso la Black Diamond Pool, intorno alle 10:00 del mattino, mentre centinaia di visitatori erano presenti.
