Rafflesia on a trip to Sabah
Spotted a couple of Rafflesia in bloom when visiting Sabah in late 2011! Since it was on a private property, we were asked to pay (a slightly unreasonable) sum of 30 Ringgit to see it! Our driver was nice enough to negotiate it down to 20 Ringgit, and we were pretty glad we saw them! Quite amazing really, especially since we were told that these flowers generally take roughly 9 months to bloom and only remain in bloom for a couple of days before decomposing!
