Become a BETA TESTER on Xbox Series X|S!
Ever wanted to test games or system software early? Well, you actually can! Have a peek behind the curtain at new Xbox features (and games!) long before anyone else, and share your thoughts on them with the developers themselves - and maybe even impact on the final release! In this video, I showcase what the process is like from enrolling to unenrolling in the system beta - also known as "Insider preview" by Microsoft.
NOTE: You may have to register on the Microsoft insider website first before doing this. Registration is completely free and open to anyone and only takes a minute or two. Here's an official guide from Microsoft: https://insider.xbox.com/
When you've upgraded, you'll enjoy brand new features before the general public* - sometimes not released until weeks after! I've already noticed certain current and previous features were exclusive to a beta - these include;
Auto HDR tag in the top right when the guide is opened (https://imgur.com/a/m2VucBS)
Gamerscore in the top right when the guide is opened
New profile themes
Game activity tab in the guide, replacing Achievement tab
New system design
Subscription tags
New Microsoft store
*With certain features, such as Game Activity mentioned above, Microsoft only rolls these features out to certain groups of people - even when you're on the latest beta. My main account has way more beta features "unlocked" compared to my test account. As your reputation as a beta tester (Insider) increases, you'll be considered for these rollouts more often!
