Mrs B Proved That Age Is Just A Number.
Born in 1893 - she later moved to America and spoke no english.
She started a furniture store in the basement of her husbands store in Omaha.
That store ended up becoming Nebraska Furniture Mart.
She grew that business over 4 decades into a business that Warren Buffett would buy for 60 million dollars (in 1983 money!)
Buffett didn’t think to have her sign a non compete since she was in her late 80’s.
She then took a few years off and STARTED A COMPETITOR STORE across the street at 95! 😂
It was called Mrs B’s Clearance and factory outlet store.
She grew that quickly too and Warren eventually bought that too and had Mrs B Sign a Non Compete at 98 years old!
She worked at NFM until she was 103.
