The rains from Hurricane Debby have caused flooding some 4 days after passing through South Georgia. The Ogeechee River began flooding the area yesterday, forcing the closure of US Highway 17 between Richmond Hill and Savannah.
Bryan County Emergency Services were working to protect people and property Saturday. Sandbagging was ongoing, and being moved to the areas by boat. Some evacuations had taken place as residents requested assistance leaving their homes for higher ground. Fire, Emergency Management, Police and Sherif's Departments were assisting residents.
This 4K drone video shows the flood waters and the ongoing efforts to protect property.
