Jungle Hard Shortcut Timed
This has the hesitations edited out so I can judge the amount of time this shortcut takes. Also, it has a faster beginning method. I chose the quicksand bug ending for simplicity and so I could compare this to existing speedruns.
A couple of seconds might be saved with flare cancels, and a real speedrunner could knock off several more seconds But I doubt that the portion in this video could be done in less than 27 seconds. MMAN2's speedrun shows him getting down the initial slope in 20 seconds, and it would probably take several seconds to get in the position where this video starts. So a speedrun by this route would take about 50 seconds. This doesn't match the treetop route, which has allowed a 42-second record on the PS, and a 43-second record on the PC.
