Let's Build SPACE ENGINEERS - Survival Rover - Speed Build!
Welcome to my Let's Build series on Space Engineers, where I take you along for the ride as I craft Workshop-ready Aircraft, Spacecraft, Miners, Utility Ships, Rovers, Missiles, Turrets, and other contraptions in Space Engineers!
This is a speed build of a survival rover containing basic production, storage, and oxygen systems, primarily intended for use on low-oxygen worlds like Pertam and Alien, though the modifications for efficient use on Triton or Mars are minimal. I would not recommend this vehicle for high-oxygen planets like Earth as the primary features (oxygen system and airlock) are effectively useless there.
The rover features an advanced semi-automatic airlock (you do need to open the door), vent system, and O2 tank to handle all your breathing needs, as well as two basic refineries and a basic assembler to deal with quick repairs and basic refining on the go. Energy is provided by 6 batteries and a backup hydrogen engine to recharge them, with 1 small hydrogen tank to store the gas for your backup power system and an H2/O2 generator to fill the respective tanks if ice is available.
It also comes with a (creative-only because of subgrids) Rotor/Hinge/Hinge trailer hitch, compatible with most large-grid trailers using a similar setup approximately 2 blocks off the ground, though you will need to be mindful of the catwalk clearance.
Weaknesses include having nothing the way of defenses beyond a nearly-full sheathing of light armor, so don't stick around for a fight; no exterior survival kit/medbay access and a notable delay to enter the cabin due to the airlock may also cause issues for extreme, low-oxygen survival challenges.
