Moen water faucet - 5 minute hot water flow repair.
Moen faucet hot water slowed to a trickle over a week
Mine - like many - was a piece of black plastic o-ring or mechanism that had come off faucet mechanics (feels like a design fault)
After watching a few videos that repaired (one from bottom with compressed air , many from top access) - I tried top method.
Take aways:
this was a 5-10 minute job
turn off water under sink (I also turned off house water as still some pressure)
pop cap to access Allen key screw
loosen screw and slide off handle
hand unthread chrome cap dome
pipe wrench or pliers to gently remove brass threaded mechanism. And lift out
look at cavities and hopefully see “black gunk of joy” in one chamber that you can remove - root cause
rinse bits out
reverse and replace bits 👆🏼
