Other storage is a broad category. It may include legit docs as well as useless system clutter. Try this:
1. Tidy up your Documents.
2. Sort your documents in Finder by File Size and add File Extensions to see the large items that clutter up your Mac's memory.
3. Find your large hidden files.
For this step you'll need CleanMyMac X. Use Large & Old files tool:

4. Delete unused DMGs (installation files).
5. Search for DMGs in Finder and sort the results By Size.
6. Build a map of your storage.
BTW, CleanMyMac X has received a new redesigned look. It creates a nice visual map of your Mac's storage. Go to the Space Lens tab to discover your largest file categories. Delete these space-wasting folders right from here.
Bonus tip: Check your iMovie or Photos library. It may contain duplicate copies of items you have in other places.
