Has my Ironman shoe gotten better? - Mizuno Inspire 17 - First Run Review

It is the experience of a lifetime, the first time you do an IRONMAN! Everything about that day is remembered, everything from the heat, the swim, the mountains, Promenade de Anglais, and of course the shoes.
I spend 6 months thinking about what shoes to wear, and in the end, there was no doubt. This would be too hard for me to use anything but what I was most comfortable in at the time. And for me, this was undoubtedly the Mizuno Inspire 15. A shoe that just complimented my running style and gave me comfort and efficiency in one package. This turned out to be the correct choice. My legs were beaten up from the 45C heatwave that hit Europe in 2019 and the 2000 altitude meters I had done on the bike. I needed my trusty old Inspire more than ever!
I didn't try the Inspire 16, but now that the Mizuno Inspire 17 came with Mizuno Enerzy foam in the heel I just had to try it out again.
Not only did they change the heel, but they also decided to implement three other very essential things in this revitalized edition of their mild to moderate stability shoe. Last year was Mizuno Horizons' year, will this be the year of the Inspire?
Check out my first impressions in the video above. Can it compete with the likes of other stability greats like Asics Kayano 27, the Saucony Guide 14, and the New Balance 860 v11? Well, only time will tell!
