This could be the future of abortion access in the US
Access to abortion services is a contentious issue in the United States. Clinics in many states are at risk of shutting down and operate with heightened security. Currently, abortion access is restricted in 42 states and Washington, DC. Seven of these states have only one clinic, others have less than five. Doctors are often hard to find locally and travel in from out of state to provide services to patients. Neha spent time at Trust Women in Oklahoma City, one of three clinics in the state, to meet the women seeking care and spend time with a doctor who travels in monthly to provide service. She also met with an OBGYN who sits on the board of AAPLOG, an anti-abortion organization, to learn about the concerns from this doctor’s perspective.
