We started our Board meeting today by hearing Mike’s story.
After suffering chest pain for a few days, Mike called 999 and, fortunately for him, Paramedic Gaylene and Trainee Association Ambulance Practitioner Clare were on hand when he suffered a cardiac arrest.
It was touch and go for a while but after shocking Mike a number of times, Gaylene and Clare were able to get Mike back, before transporting him to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
We’re delighted to say, after further cardiac treatment, Mike has made a full recovery.
And the take away message from the film (apart from the great work from Gaylene and Clare!)?
If you experience chest pain, don’t ignore it!
