Twins!!! Two teeny tiny Eastern Hermann’s Tortoises (Testudo hermanni boettgeri) develop in the same egg!
As a research biologist, I may have hatched upwards of 10,000 turtle eggs collected in the field from five Ontario species. As a hobbyist, the number is a couple orders lower but not too shabby, I think 😊 Of all those turtle and tortoise babies, these are the first ever in my incubators to share a single egg!
So cool! Mind blown 🤯
