20220825 Racoon Invasion!
During the night of 24/25 August 2022 we were awakened with banging and crashing sounds, thought it was coming from a neighbor's unit. Upon entering the garage on the morning of the 25th of August I discovered a mess in the garage...and the culprit which created the mess! A racoon, which greeted me from his perch on top of my car!
I called Lakewood's Animal Control to deal with the racoon, an officer showed up several minutes later. It would take her almost an hour to snag not one, but TWO racoons which had taken up residence in our garage! With great persistence, she managed to capture them both and evict them from the garage. A great job by Animal Control!
This left us with a mess to cleanup.... a spring cleaning long overdue!
With the cold weather approaching, the racoons are in search of warmer places to spend the night. Do NOT leave your garage doors open, ever! We do not...yet somehow, they managed to find their way into our garage!
