THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF ARCANE | Will Arcane Season 2 disappoint everyone?
There are many terrible things happening in the world that shouldn't be condoned or normalized in art. One of these things is abuse and violence in general. Unhealthy relationships shouldn't be the norm. But unfortunately, sometimes controversial examples appear in popular culture. I wonder if Arcane is a case of promoting abuse? I'd like to believe not, because I love the show so much. But the plot and certain details of this series give me a lot to think about. Especially the way Silko and Jinx are portrayed, and the terrible ships they find themselves in, always with abusive partners. Many people fell in love with certain characters in League of Legends, but in Arcane, these characters behave badly, and fans begin to justify them. Victim-blaming of innocent victims of abuse has become the norm, as has gaslighting of the more normal portion of the fandom and community. Why does the community victim-blame their favorite characters, and what secret are the creators of Arcane really hiding? So what will we see in season 2? A reason to cancel the show or a brilliant plot twist that will change the game?
If you didn't catch it, I was alluding to the Bishimbayev case at the beginning, which vividly demonstrates the dire consequences of normalizing abuse in society.
