I show ALL proper SETTINGS to play Half Life: Alyx SMOOTHLY without stutters. I show settings in Virtual Desktop in headset, Virtual Desktop Streamer in Windows 10 and SteamVR. In addition, all settings in router!!! WATCH ALL VIDEO.
TESTS I did:
all settings combinations in routers:
1. Netia Spot (firmware: 5.4.8.2.126) wifi:2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n lan:100Mbit
2. Tp-Link TD-W8970 (firmware: 0.9.1 2.0 v0035.0 Build 160816 Rel.35740n) wifi:2.4GHz 802.11b/g/n lan:1000Mbit
3. "Mobile Hotspot" in Windows 10 (OS Version: 10.0.18363, Build 18363) on Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz 802.11b/g/n/ac
(I tried to change all the option in Windows Device Manager)
I tried all above routers in connection with the following tests (the ones I remember):
moving wifi hotspot to different places in the same room
turning off EVERY other wireless devices in my home
SteamVR:
Render Resolution
Video- Motion Smoothing
Video- Legacy Reprojection Mode
Virtual Desktop Streamer options (in Windows 10):
Preferred Codec: H.264, HEVC
set the process priority in Task Manager to High, Realtime
Virtual Desktop in Oculus headset:
Video Framerate: Low/Medium
Video Bitrate Low/Medium
Sliced encoding
Boost clock rates
other test:
even capturing RAW network packets in Wireshark (Network Analyzer)
and changing Windows 10 Network options like ECN (Explicit Congestion Notification):
