Wong Kalang The Powerful Tailed Man
Kalang people or commonly called "Wong Kalang" is one of the tribes that inhabit the island of Java.
The term "kalang" was first found in the temple grave inscription in Tegalsari Village, Kawedanan Tegalharjo, Magelang Regency, which dates back to 753 Saka (831 AD).
Allegedly, this tribe has existed since Java did not know Hinduism.
But there is another opinion that says wong kalang came from the Khmer or Cambodian people who fled to the island of Java in the 8th century AD.
The mythology of wong circles comes from the khmer because there is a mention of the name for a strong person in the country which is translated as k'lang man.
When the kingdom of the ancient Mataram era, the people of the Kalang tribe were thought to be employed as the maker of the Prambadan, Borobudur and other temples.
Wong Kalang's expertise as a maestro of temple builders is no longer in doubt. In addition to their physical and mystical strength, the wong kalang is known as a persevering and tenacious tribe.
In the Majapahit era, the Kalang tribe or commonly known as Wong Kalang, was empowered to build large temples, especially temples that were considered to have high spiritual value.
