Formerly one of the Highests, he was stripped of his powers and turned into a Demon after being banished to Hell by his fellow Highests due to him engaging them in a war for control of the planet Mobius, only to fail and be imprisoned in Hell for thousands of years before finally escaping and taking over the body of Sonic the Hedgehog in order to take over the planet he created and overrun it with his fellow Demons to prevent it from being erased by the Highests.
