Occasional Use of Computers and Technology in the Workplace
Technology and network use is a part of almost every employee’s life. Just about every kind of job requires the use of computers, networks, or cell phones. Just Now, you MAY be able to use company-owned computers and equipment for personal use as long as it is “occasional.” Keep in mind the following guidelines for occasional use:
1. Your use does not affect your job performance or disrupt others.
2.Your use is truly occasional.
3. Your use does not assist another business, competitor, or other entity besides the company.
4. Your use does not cost the company anything.
5.Your use does not access inappropriate material that would be embarrassing to the company or would offend your coworkers.
6. Your use is not used to solicit funds, collect signatures, conduct membership drives, sell merchandise, or carry on any other form of business. Also, do not use your company email address for shopping or online chat or posts. Anything coming or going to your company email should be company related.
