Welcome to Wealthy’s Official YouTube Channel. In this explainer video, we discuss different types of returns in mutual funds. The first one is point-to-point returns. This basically refers to the returns that a mutual fund gives during a specific period. Meaning, the returns from one point in time to the other. The second type of returns is rolling returns. It depicts the average returns of a mutual fund for a specific period. The tenure can be 3 years, 5 years, 10 years, etc. It is used to check the consistency in returns of a mutual fund. The third and the fourth types are CAGR and XIRR. These are the most common returns. Compound Annual Growth Rate is the rate that measures how much you have earned through a mutual fund every year over a period of time. Extended Internal Rate of Return (XIRR) is a tool that helps you to calculate returns on SIP of mutual funds where many transactions occur at different times.
