2.8 Mile Wide Insanity! | SCR6 Online Ep. 4
On Friday, July 10 2020, a large cone formed in the Southwestern corner of Deseret County. It touched down and fully condensed within 5 minutes of its formation, heading south. It hit the edge of the map, and bounced North, towards the Robloksian Metro. A tornado warning went into effect at approximately 3:09 PM. The tornado immediately expanded up to 0.3 miles in width, and continued to head north, taking a slight turn towards the town of Turlington, about a few miles outside of the the city of Robloksia, which resulted in the town losing power (which led to more injuries and eaths due to the sirens being cut.) and HE EF0-EF2 damage, including billboard damage up to almost the point of total failure, and roofs being torn off of residential homes, with roof supports being torn off of their positions and being lofted. The tornado then proceeded to head northeast, where a PDS Tornado Warning - then replaced by a Tornado Emergency a few minutes later - as it closed in on the town of Canton, growing more erratically to 1/4 miles wide. Another LE EF4 was already in progress, also skimming the town of Canton, as the now HE EF3 wedge tornado entered downtown Canton. It merged with the other now multivortex EF3 as it exited town, and danced around the circulational core of the wedge tornado as it was excluded into the RFD of the large tornado and began to weaken as it moved North, then cut back to cut back to the West. The wedge tornado, now almost a mile wide, with peak width at 0.8 miles wide at the time, weakened a bit to around 148 miles an hour - around Mid-end EF3 - continued north, then cut back to the East, re-intensifying back into EF4 strength. Another Tornado Emergency went into effect as the now 1.5 mile wide EF4 closed in on the town of Greenington. As it began pushing erratically into HE EF4 windspeeds, Interception & Mesonet/Videographer Units began warning the residents of the town as they prepared to blast back north to get out of its path themselves.
The wedge tornado, now topping 200 mile an hour windspeeds, entered downtown Greenington as sirens blared across the county, storm spotters and mesonet units blasted north as quickly as possible, with the subvortices of the tornado began tearing roofs off the homes in the residential areas, initially doing HE EF3-HE EF4 damage within seconds of the initial vortices impact. The tornado exited town as quickly headed south, scraping eastern sides of the Robloksian Metro, doing High-end EF2 to Low-end EF3 damage storm spotters reported. Probe deployments were quickly aborted as it shifted abruptly and reversed its track to the southeast, back towards the severely damaged town of Greenington, where a SAR (Search-And-Rescue) was currently underway. The tornado was now 2.8 miles in width, with windspeeds at 269 miles an hour via mesonet readings. Another Tornado Emergency was issued, an explicit wording warning anyone in the warning polygon to either seek shelter underground or get out of the area, as the tornado was strong enough to kill anyone who attempted to seek shelter above ground. The wedge increased to over 276 miles an hour as it entered the town once again, leveling all residential homes to their foundation. Half of the homes in the Greenington Metro were well built and yet their anchor bolts were covered in grass and mud, and even bent. The storm, which continued to intensify, slowed to around 5-10 miles an hour via ground speed, increasing the wind field's range of damage, such as powerlines and trees outside of the area, as well as the damage done on the town itself.
