Sergei Prokofiev - Adagio from "Cinderella" ballet
Christophor Miroshnikov, cello
Natalia Miroshnikova, piano
In the orginal score of the ballet, Adagio - a grand solo of the orchestra cello section - is a Duet of the Prince and Cinderella, which comes at the end of the second act. It is a scene where the Prince and CInderella, alone in the royal garden, dance and express their blossoming love for each other. Prokofiev himself had arranged the Adagio for cello and piano.
In this video, there are excerpts from Pas de deux performed by Raisa Struchkova and Gennadi Lediakh from the Bolshoi Theater production of the Cinderella ballet.
