ARTESUNATE comes from chinese wormwood and has for ages been used to treat malaria. In 2005 professor Lai from Washington University found that Artesunate also can be used to treat cancer. Artesunate binds to iron proteins inside cancer cells and releases free oxygen species that kill cancer cells. It is also known to block the growth of new vessels inside tumor areas.
