PUBG and Apex Legends have both rolled out major anti-cheat updates recently — but how effective are they really? In this video, I break down Krafton’s latest crackdown on DMA cheat hardware in PUBG, with over 80,000 accounts banned, plus another 50,000 blocked for bypass attempts. While that’s a big step forward, it also reveals just how widespread cheating has been.
Then we shift over to Apex Legends’ anti-cheat report, comparing their metrics like total bans, match infection rate, and reports per user. Apex has admitted to 6–10% match infection rates, meaning an average ranked game could have 3–6 cheaters. If PUBG published the same metric, would the numbers be even worse?
We also discuss regional differences, long-term ban totals, and why PUBG’s challenge may be the biggest in the FPS space — with over 42 million permabans in 8 years.
Cheating is a problem across all online shooters, but PUBG’s numbers show a much larger issue than the usual “all games have cheaters” excuse.
