NYSCI Science-At-Home Celebrating Black Chemists
During Black History Month, NYSCI is honoring Black scientists with an interactive family event. Watch our incredible Explainers Ian, Anne and Anisha will lead you through a STEM activity using household materials while you learn about amazing discoveries by Black scientists.
Participants at home will need to gather the following items in advance of the event:
Clear container or jar
Warm Water
3% hydrogen peroxide
Measuring cups & spoons
Liquid dish soap
Packet of yeast
Food coloring (optional)
This activity is great for ages 4+ with adult supervision and will be a bit messy - but fun. We suggest that you lay down newspaper or a disposable tablecloth.
