Why don't drivers pay attention out here anymore?! Even professional Truckers are acting like everything that we hate about 4 wheelers! This industry is really going down hill and it is only getting worse and I know it will only get worse. The government has passed so many failed regulations and all it has done, is restricted the amount of hours drivers can drive in a day and a week which means: Companies have to hire more drivers and the more desperate the companies are, the more idiots they will hire. The more idiots they will hire, the more demand there is for trucking school. And what I learned out in "Brrrrrramden, Ontario is what sells their (trucking school's) product to their customers is "You will be guaranteed to pass if not on the 1st try, the 2nd". and all they do is take 5 fellow drivers out in the same truck at the same time and practice the route that the License tester will take them on. the big problem with this is take one of these goofs who's self esteem is soaring that they passed the test so easily, is once they take a corner they never been at before, they really screw it up and don't even get me started on backing in unfamiliar locations! as for the "Not paying attention" thingy, They hire almost anyone nowadays- in fact the dumber the driver, the better chance he will get hired because to get into trucking nowadays with record low wages, when compared to the responsibility vs how much you can do in a day, it's not a very wise career choice for that pay and dumb people can be expected to do dumb things.... In this vid, BobTail drifted off to the side. while he was in the shoulder, it was the last place the texting FedEx noticed him before his eyes left the road. When FedEx glaced back to the road, he saw BobTail on his way (back) towards him quickly whch caused FedEx's panic maneuver of over compensation. If he saw the whole thing, he'd hit the horn while moving to the left a bit slowly.
