Twitch Is Hemorrhaging Creators to Kick

In recent days, Kick has nabbed big names, including xQc and Amouranth. xQc landing a two-year deal worth $100 million, with the New York Times noting that this deal is so big, it’s about as large as the two-year contract extension LeBron James signed last year. xQc’s agent calling it “one of the highest deals in entertainment, period.” And it’s not even exclusive, right he will primarily make content for Kick, but can still pop up on other platforms, even planning to use Twitch now and then. Though, you have Forbes noting that even if xQc’s nonexclusive deal would allow him on Twitch, Twitch now has a policy against cross-streaming, so that could hinder his plans to still appear on the site. And not long after all this, Amouranth posted a sketch video where she sees the news of xQc’s deal and calls her agent to get one of her own, then packing her bags to head to Kick. And while the details of her agreement have not been made public, it's still obviously a massive move. And this is enough to probably have Twitch shaking in its boots, but the good news for them is that at least one major streamer has no plans on jumping ship: Pokimane. With her kind of citing her ethical standards for staying on Twitch, as Kick has been controversial, it has ties to the site Stake.com. And so when asked if she would ever go to Kick, she recently said: “I’m good as I am. Why would I [coughs] compromise my morals and ethics for more money when I have money? Something about that is so cringe to me, personally.”
