Growing Up in Australia: Teenagers and relationships
The chapter 'Teenagers and sex' can be found in the latest Annual Statistic Report from Growing Up In Australia: The Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC), released November 2019.
LSAC has been following the development of 10,000 Australian children since 2003. We catch up with them at a crucial time in their transitioning to adulthood.
Using data collected between 2010 and 2016, the chapter provides a snapshot of insights into the sexual experiences and behaviours of teenagers aged 14–17 years, including sexual attraction and relationships, sexual intercourse, contraception choices, pornography viewing and unwanted sexual behaviours.
