There's nothing more than watching the classic monster movies to get you in that Halloween mood. However as horror has evolved and changed over time, they are still somewhat inspired by the classics. This includes Family Halloween movies that may encourage young viewers to take a trip to the days of black and white.
A such example is Tim Burton's Frankenweenie (2012). A stop motion animated black and white movie about a boy who bring his dog back to life after being killed from a car accident. While the movie is based off a live action short Burton made in 1984, it also explores Burton's childhood from both his Suburban upbringings, his relationship with his dog but also his love for classic horror and monster movies.
Frankenweenie is full of references and homages that I thought for the movie's 10 year anniversary I would find 31 (each for the days in October) to show how much of a love letter this movie is to the iconic monsters.
