100 KM Hitchhiking! Still No One Stopped ~30
📍 In this video, we embark on a hitchhiking journey through the challenging roads of Eastern Anatolia, from Siirt to Tatvan, and then to Lake Nemrut. Sometimes we start the day with a modest breakfast costing 30 lira, and other times we test our patience with miles of road where not a single car stops.
What you see isn't just a trip; it's a true story of being on the road, of uncertainty, and of trusting people. In eastern Turkey, sometimes a complete stranger opens their door for you, and sometimes you wait for hours by the roadside. In this region where hitchhiking is difficult and people are more cautious, every car that stops becomes a ray of hope.
The people we meet along the way are the most valuable part of this journey. Sharing a meal and drinking tea with fellow travelers who speak different languages and come from different countries… Even if you don't share a common language, you can somehow understand each other. Because the real language on this journey is humanity.
But this road is not just a struggle with people, it's also a struggle with nature. The challenges we face on our way to Lake Nemrut: the danger of bears, long walks, and the unknown… At every step, the question “should I continue or give up?” crosses your mind. But still, the journey continues.
And finally, the place you arrive at… Nemrut’s unique nature, the crater lake, the fish swimming around, and the silence of nature. All the fatigue disappears in an instant. But this story isn’t perfect; reaching it is difficult, staying there is difficult, returning is difficult. That’s exactly why it’s real.
