the cube - a death note inspired very short film.
This is my first take on a (very) short film aka the "Cinematic" experience. No budget whatsoever. Just me, a box, a Rubik's cube, my office space, my Panasonic GH5, my Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 lens with Viltrox Speedbooster, and my Neewer Light set. All inspired by Death Note and the rise of A.I.
Well, if you look at it this way, there is SOME budget here....
Anyway - I challenged myself to go and shoot something and create something out of nothing with a cinematic narrative. I have very little time due to family responsibilities and decided to revive the channel as much as possible, in any spare time I can find, hoping to reignite video production as a passion.
The Cube is a short film about what seems to be your typical average Joe who finds a delivery box at his doorstep. Sometimes we are the danger.
This entire project was shot on my Panasonic Lumix GH5, with the Viltrox 0.71x Speeedbooster and the Sigma ART Canon F1.8, 18-35MM Lens. The only tool used is a Smallrig tripod. Basically just a video shoot by myself with myself for myself... and for you.
The editing is done in Davinci Resolve Studio, using the Dehancer Plugin for the coloring. (Review on this coming soon!) The video was edited in a 2:39 format and exported in a 4K resolution to upscale for Youtube and add black bars.
The soundtrack used is from Wes Anderson movies and most part royalty-free sound effects. Subtitles are automatically generated captions in Resolve.
