Hey guys, so its been a while and I have been busy looking for jobs and working on the side. A few weeks ago I ran into the video I linked below and got really inspired to try out puppet animation. Since I am pretty new to this kind of animation I decided to make my first little test simple however I quickly realized how complicated it can get.
THE PROCESS:
I basically had to go in Photoshop and cut out every single strand of hair and put them on a separate layer. After that I did the pupils incase I wanted to animate them as well as redrawing the parts behind the hair and pupils to look as close to the original as possible. That was the main difficult part, redrawing whatever was underneath the hair. after that I exported all the separate layers which there were around 50+ layers total and then bring them all into after effects. I then had to rearrange them since when you bring them into after effects they are not placed in the correct spot. After that I have to add at least 3 to 4 puppet pins on each individual strand of hair and then manually animate them individually. I am sure there may be a faster way but since this was my first time doing it this was the only way I knew how.
Feel free to give me feedback and maybe ways to speed up the process and or improve my work. Anyway hope you guys enjoy and sorry about not uploading.
