How to spray graffiti | SWR Handwerkskunst
Graffiti is both a craft and an art, at least when it is sprayed so skillfully. The Stuttgart street artist Jeroo transforms a grey wall into a colourful spectacle. He chooses the right colours from over 350 different spray cans.
A mural, i.e. a large wall painting, is created in six days. First he draws the outlines of the motifs, shapes and figures and fills the first areas. Then the actual work begins: shading and light edges are drawn or highlights are set with white.
Since graffiti paints do not mix, he needs many different colors to achieve effects. With the right techniques, such as fading, where a fine mist of color blends over the surfaces, amazing accents are created. And so, little by little, a fascinating, three-dimensional image emerges from the wall that has been dreary and gray for years.
