I wrote this article eight big mistakes parents and boys should never ever make 10 years ago actually I think it's 12. and the weirdest thing is this I stand by every single word I could write a list that's 8 or 108 items long about how to raise healthy boys but the advice comes down to the same messages and that is that you have got to let your boys feel and express all their emotions you've got to stop forcing them to be tough and perform masculinity in a way that holds them back emotionally you've got to love them and be tender with them this should not be revolutionary advice it's Common Sense let them be who they are teach them emotional intelligence let them be tender the way we've been raising them has not been working boys and men are in crisis show up for them
