This is a Houdini battle simulation that uses crowds, with motion capture. The battle was created as part of my senior thesis for graduation from the Savannah College of Art and Design. I captured the animations using a Vicon Blade motion capture studio at the school. The fight animations are 2 person captures with props. The animations were then brought into Houdini were I used the crowd system to start building out the scene. The textures were made in Substance Painter and then brought into Houdini were I made hi-res and low-res versions for foreground and background assets. One of the challenges was managing scene size working on one machine. The cloth simulations were made using Houdini Vellum. The environment was made using Houdini, Speedtree, Substance Painter, and Megascans assets. The entire project was rendered using SideFX Mantra, composited in Nuke.
