How to Replace Leather Fabric Door Panel - Mitsubishi Galant / 380
In this video, I restore and upgrade the interior door panels of my Mitsubishi Galant using black diamond-pattern padded leather. The original door panel fabric was peeling and falling apart, so I decided to give the interior a clean and luxurious upgrade.
I also repaired the dashboard trim fabric and replaced the cabin air filter while the glove box was removed. This DIY project dramatically improves the look of the interior and can save hundreds of dollars compared to replacing the entire door panel.
The diamond-pattern leather material was purchased from AliExpress at a great price and the results look amazing.
This step-by-step tutorial shows how to:
• Remove the door panel safely
• Remove switch panels and armrests
• Strip old fabric from interior trim
• Clean off old adhesive
• Cut replacement fabric using the old panel as a template
• Apply adhesive and install the new leather
• Reinstall trim pieces and door panels
• Repair dashboard trim fabric
• Replace the cabin air filter
For the installation I used Gorilla Ultimate Contact Adhesive Spray to bond the leather fabric and Goo Gone Spray Gel Cleaner to remove adhesive overspray.
This upgrade gives the interior a premium luxury look without the high cost.
