Install Filezilla on a PC
Filezilla is a client software for ftp downloading. It has an easily downloadable free version that can be installed on a PC. Once installed, the network information of the ftp host you are connecting to needs to be entered in, and then it is also advised to set the local path to your desired folder location. A great example of when FIlezilla would be useful is downloading from the USDA NRCS geospatial Data Gateway. There are a couple of options to retrieve data from the Data Gateway, but ftp is the quickest and most efficient.
