If you’re an overseas Pakistani or a foreigner visiting Pakistan, you can register your mobile phone for temporary use without paying the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) tax. Here’s how to do it:
Visit the PTA Device Registration System (DRS) portal.https://dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs/auth/login
Sign up for an account if you don’t have one.
Log in and agree to the Terms & Conditions.
Click on “Temporary Registration for Overseas Pakistanis/Foreign Nationals.”
Enter your CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) or Passport number, along with your entry date and date of departure.
Specify the number of SIMs you’ll be using and the mobile network operator.
Submit the undertaking.
You’ll receive a 6-digit OTP (One-Time Password) via email or SMS.
Enter the OTP to complete the registration process.
Remember that this temporary registration is valid for 120 days from your arrival in Pakistan.

Step by Step to register your mobile in Pakistan using PTA:
Open a browser on your mobile and type “PTA login”.
The first option will be the login page, click on it.
If you don’t have an account, register first by clicking on “Sign up”.
After clicking on sign up, the “Device Registration System” page will open.
Read the terms and conditions and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Select “Temporary Registration for Overseas Pakistani and Foreign National”.
Select “Overseas Pakistani/Dual National” if you are an overseas Pakistani or “Foreign National (Traveling to Pakistan)” if you are not.
Enter your personal details, including your full name as it appears on your ID card, mobile number, email, city, postal address, ID card number, and passport number.
Create a password and confirm it.
Click “Submit”.
You will receive a verification email or SMS.
Open your email and click on the confirmation link.
Your account will be activated.
Next time you travel to Pakistan, you can log in to your account and register your mobile again.
Enter your email and password.
If you are shown a captcha, select the correct image and click “Verify”.
If you are not shown a captcha, click “Next”.
Check the “I agree with above terms and conditions” box.
Click “Temporary Registration for Overseas Pakistani and Foreign National”.
Enter your ID card number, select “Pakistan or Dual National”, enter your passport number, entry date to Pakistan, and departure date from Pakistan.
Select whether your mobile supports single SIM or dual SIM.
Enter your mobile’s IMEI number and the mobile number you want to register.
Select the network provider for the number you want to register.
If your mobile supports dual SIM, enter the IMEI number and mobile number for the second SIM.
Check the “I agree with above terms and conditions” box.
Click “Submit”.
You will receive an SMS or email with a 6-digit OTP code.
Enter the OTP code on the registration page.
Click “Submit”.
Your application will be submitted successfully.
You will see a tracking ID on the page.
Your mobile will start working within 24 hours. If it doesn’t, restart your mobile.
