The purpose of Slay Teddies is to connect with families. When visiting their channel, they want viewers to feel this is their home away from home. Being relatable is very comforting and is a way for viewers to tap into their own memories similar to what they are watching. Furthermore, showing that they live a "normal" easy lifestyle can help remind their viewers that luxury is not needed to have a good time. Relatable content is a big part of their channel.
When watching YouTube, content creators will tend to look at the work of others for ideas and/or inspiration. In their case, they tend to admire PewDiePie's channel. This may come as a surprise (or not), but there are several reasons for this. To begin with, they truly admire how he rose out of nothing. He had a passion for gaming and felt the need to share his gaming experiences with the world. He used what he had at the moment and started his channel without excuses. His actions remind them of their favorite quote that says "Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can". Furthermore, the fact that he chose to become a YouTuber purely for the fun of it (not the fame), really spoke about the content of his channel. Lastly, the videos he creates are organic as he is playing video games and his reactions and words come spontaneously causing the viewer to feel as if one were sitting next to him watching him play his video games. Again, that familiarity/relatable feeling truly is an important trait for a YouTube channel.
To conclude, what Slay Teddies is looking to achieve in YouTube is to reach out to as many homes as possible, and allow them to view videos with clean fun content. Allow viewers to take a few minutes and enjoy videos that don't need censoring and that the whole family can view. Slay Teddies will keep working at it until we reach this goal.
