Lab Series: What can we learn from tensile testing?
Tensile testing is a mechanical test in which a sample material is pulled along a single axis until it breaks. The forces applied and the elongation of the material are measured. Some of the key elements we can learn from a tensile test are, a material's ultimate strength, flexibility, modulus and yield strength.
